What I’m Reading – February 5, 2016

I recently finished The Prestige by Christopher Priest and loved it. (Even though it was released in 1995, I’d never read it before.) Now I’m reading Dead Ringers by Christopher Golden and enjoying it so far. Here are a few other titles sitting in my to-read pile:
Mr. Splitfoot by Samantha Hunt
The Strange Crimes of Little Africa by Chesya Burke
Split Tongues by Kristi DeMeester
The Moon Will Look Strange by Lynda E. Rucker
The Poison Artist by Jonathan Moore
Hyde by Daniel Levine
The February issue of The Dark Magazine

And here are three forthcoming books I recommend giving a look (all of which are currently available for pre-order):
The Honey Mummy by E. Catherine Tobler
Furnace by Livia Llewellyn (I read an Advance Reader Copy of this and it’s brilliant!)
Almost Dark by Letitia Trent

Lastly, here are several fantastic short stories I’ve recently read:
“Razorback” by Ursula Vernon in Apex Magazine
“The Fifth Gable” by Kay Chronister in Shimmer
“Maiden, Hunter, Beast” by Kat Howard in Lightspeed Magazine
“Secondhand Bodies” by JY Yang in Lightspeed Magazine
“Soursop” by Chikodili Emelumadu in Apex Magazine
“Girl in Blue Dress (1881)” by Sunil Patel in Fantastic Stories of the Imagination
“Angel, Monster, Man” by Sam J. Miller in Nightmare Magazine
“The Caretakers” by David Nickle in Tor.com
